Digitech USB 2.0 Combo 6 Port USB Hub with Card Reader

by Henry Snugglepuss

There are many USB hubs out there that are very popular.  Most popular ones I've seen are 4 port USB hubs that look like little table ornaments.  Pretty little things, but now I believe I have discovered something even better.

It's the Digitech USB 2.0 Combo:  6 Port USB Hub with reading slots for 4 types of cards.

What I like about it is that it's not priced way above any of those common 4 USB port hubs with no card readers.

This unit adds 6 USB 2.0 high speed ports to your computer or laptop.

Installation is pretty easy as it is just plug-and-play.  Your computer should install it automatically within a few seconds after detecting it.

It has over-current protection for each individual port.

It can be plugged into a usb port without its extention cable, or you can plug the provided cable into the bottom port of the unit and plug the cable into your computer.  This way your USB 2.0 Combo can stand on the table next to you so you can easily plug in all your devices very conveniently.

The Digitech 6 port USB hub with card reader is compliant with USB 2.0 specifications, as well as being compatible with USB 1.1.  It supports both full speed (12Mbps) and low speed (1.5Mbps).

It works with Windows 98 / 98SE / 2000 / Me / Xp / Vista / Windows 7 and Mac OS.

The cards that are supported in the card reading slots are SD, MMC, XD, CF and T-FLASH.

This unit can be bus powered or AC powered.  (An AC adaptor is not supplied.)

Personally what I also like about this product is this:

Have you ever had that problem that say for example, those internet dongles are much too fat to be plugged in next to other USB ports in use?   I have.  Especially on my laptop (mine is old-fashioned with only 2 USB ports), I have problems connecting an internet dongle and a memory stick next to each other.  The USB ports on my laptop are just too close to one another.

However, with this device, I plug the device in and can plug in all the other devices into the Digitech USB Hub.

Aside from having 6 ports, each of those ports can be folded out, thusly:

This way, you can obviously plug in any fat USB devices you may have like vodafone dongles, closely next to each other easily by simply making some room for it by swinging its port to an angle that will allow more than enough space.

All in all, a very lovable piece of equipment.
